The property owners are passionate about 1950s architecture and design, particularly the restoration of Vintage Trailers. They tapped into their love of all things mid-century when they reimagined this old 1951 hipster pad - blending vintage styling with modern technology to create a cool, comfortable and very private Palm Springs escape. Occasionally, the owners will leave a beautifully restored Mid-Mod Airstream or Canned Ham in the backyard for our guests’ enjoyment. Perfect for reenacting a scene from Lucy & Desi’s MGM movie The Long Long Trailer. In true Palm Springs-style, the owners respected the home’s architectural pedigree by preserving the iconic concrete floors, stacked stone, and post & beam ceilings. The original floor to ceiling windows have been replaced with fabulous moving walls of glass by Fleetwood - blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living. All new kitchen and baths. THE SLEEPING QUARTERS All three bedrooms feature flat screen televisions, hotel quality mattresses and ample closet space. Bedroom 1 has a queen-sized bed, a sitting area and direct pool access. It shares a bath with Bedroom 2 which has two full-sized beds. Bedroom 3 has a queen-sized bed and direct bath access. All of the bedrooms are uniquely furnished and have a style all their own. THE BACKYARD This home has a happy, comfortable vacation vibe. The back yard is no exception. It is completely walled for privacy and well planned for enjoying sundrenched days by the pool and long evenings under the stars. There is a heated in-ground pool with an integrated waterfall spa and spectacular mountain views. You’ll find an outdoor living room, alfresco dining for eight, and a fire feature to gather round on those cool desert evenings. There are some very cool architectural design elements that make this yard the quintessential hanging spot --- mid-century block work, pebble tech patios, fountains and neat lighting. You’re going to love it. LOCATION This property is centrally located in Tahquitz River Estates neighborhood, which sits between bustling Downtown and the South Palm Springs Business District. You’ll be in walking distance to the night clubs, bars, restaurants and performance venues of the South Palm Springs Business District. Burger joints, sandwich shops, and grocery stores are all nearby. The vibe of this home is very California… very Palm Springs. The owners have created a comfortable, relaxing getaway space that honors the mid-century pedigree of the home but meets the needs of how we live today. Suitable for extended long weekends, weekly stays, month-long visits and as a seasonal rental. Advanced bookings strongly advised. Optional concierge services including daily maid service, poolside massage, pre-arrival grocery stocking, and private chef can be arranged with three-week prior notice. The property is in Tahquitz River Estates between bustling Downtown and the South Palm Springs Business District. Nightclubs, bars, restaurants, burger joints, sandwich shops, and performance venues are all within walking distance. Certain dog breeds under 65 lbs are allowed at this home, the dog fee is $195 (2 dogs maximum).
